A trip to the North Pole isn’t in the cards this Christmas. But who needs negative temps and tons of travel, when you can join Alki Tours on the only daylight train to the legendary Christmas town of Leavenworth?

The fun begins as you board the train departing from Seattle’s King Street Station, Edmonds Station, or in Everett. Passenger’s car are decorated to the hilt and furnished with cozy seats to make your journey fabulous. Along the way enjoy a catered continental breakfast. The changing scenery outside will compete for your attention on board the train as oompah-pah bands, jazz bands, carolers, shifty sailors, magicians and Santa strolls through the aisles. Near the 4000 foot summit, the train transits the Cascade Tunnel—the second longest in North America and enters into a winter wonderland with ski slopes and ice-choked rivers. At approximately 12:30pm, the train rolls to a stop in Leavenworth.

Upon arrival in Leavenworth, the fun continues in the streets of this Bavarian mountain town that’s dressed to look and feel, as The New York Times wrote, “a bit like the interior of a snow globe.” We’ll take in the season and roam around this “perfect place to spark the holiday spirit,” where horse-drawn carriages glide down the roads, carolers stroll, and vendors sell delicious holiday fare. After re-board the train where dinner, more entertainment and our fabulous staff awaits to make your Christmas wishes come true.

This trip sells out every year, so don’t delay! For reservations and information: call Alki Tours at 206-935-6848 or The price is $179.00 adult and $169.00 for children for standard seating. Price includes: round-trip train transportation, continental breakfast, catered dinner and loads of entertainment. Train departs on Saturdays in December- (7, 14, and 21).

I just moved back to Seattle with my wife and children after living in California for the last 20 years. Since we have been back in June I have been working on sharing many of the wonderful things the North West has to offer. I would love to take my wife, son and daughter by train to see all of the beauties of the cascades via train and spend some Christmas cheer time in Leavenworth.

I would absolutely love to see this. My daughter has always wanted to ride a train. I Love Leavenworth and the snow. My roommates grandson had a liver transplant at the great Seattle Children’s Hospital and is turning two years old this month. This will be the first Christmas he will be excited for and old enough to understand what is going on and I would love to give him this kind of experience.

Christmas in Leavenworth reminds me of being a kid. We used to take family roadtrips over for the weekend to enjoy snowy Bavarian nights and lights. I’d love to go back for the holidays!

  12. William Redkey October 11, 2013 at 11:32 pm #

I grew up in Washington for almost 20 years, I have observed its’ beauty in almost every way, the mountains, the snow, even the endless rainy days. After being out in the world for almost 10 more years, I’ve managed to bring back the best part of my life, my wife, however she was brought up in the South-East in Florida and has not seen many of these wonders. We haven’t been married long and don’t get many chances to go on trips like this; I think it would be a great chance to show her everything that this state has to offer, one of the first chances she’ll get to enjoy snow, mountains, a horse-drawn carriage, hot cocoa with a reason, and her first train ride.

  13. Rachel October 12, 2013 at 12:18 am #

This certainly would be a great birthday/Christmas present. More than that, it will be that last Christmas (in the foreseeable future at least) that I get to spend with the best ever partner in awesome I could hope for. I’ll be moving to Japan in March and would love to get one last special Leavenworth trip in–last time I was there I camped in the snow!

  14. GC October 12, 2013 at 6:33 am #

This sounds amazing. I still want to believe in the magic of Christmas without all of the controversy and this train will take me to that place.

Oh, and did I say, I LOVE TO RIDE TRAINS. Fingers crossed.

  15. KLS October 12, 2013 at 6:36 am #

I am a new resident of Seattle and I would love to experience this awesome train ride to this magical place.

PS. I can’t go the 21st…7th or 14th would be perfect.

  16. GC October 12, 2013 at 6:37 am #

    Fun! Fun! Fun! Can’t wait.

  19. Patty October 12, 2013 at 10:20 am #

I ran across this post today while touring Facebook. I haven’t thought about Christmas in Leavenworth for many many years until reading this post this morning. It brings back a funny event from my past shared with my good friend Sue.

About 20 years ago me and my oldest, dearest friend (38 years we met in grade school) set out to Leavenworth by bus tour. Although I had lived here all of my life, I had never experienced the beauty and excitement of the Christmas Season in Leavenworth. The travel agency ad promised the comfort of a guided bus tour to Leavenworth, window shopping, carolers and the sounds and sights of a glorious Bavarian Christmas. But the thing we were most excited about is that we would sip hot chocolate, in the evening, while riding in a real horse drawn sleigh. Now that was cool!

We never made it there because of poor weather conditions. Unfortunately, the mountain pass closed down … the bus took us north to attempt another route…but that didn’t work either. We spent most of that Saturday on the road and sitting in ugly mall parking lots, returning disappointed kids and adults back to their cars that were parked at the designated pick up points from Lynnwood to Southcenter. Let’s just say the bus driver was a little bit “nuts”, well intended but nuts, in that he wouldn’t stop for food or bathroom breaks. We were on that bus for Hours!

But Sue and I managed to have fun. We spent that day reflecting back on days spent growing up together…we were still able to yak “non- stop” and giggle over the silliest of things, like we always did as young girls and still do to this day.

It would be awesome to finally go to Leavenworth for a holiday experience with my best buddy Sue and actually get there this time!

Thanks for reading my post and considering this entry.

  20. Barbara October 12, 2013 at 10:35 am #

  36. April Pocorus October 14, 2013 at 12:11 pm #

I just move to the Seattle area a little less than a year ago and my boyfriend and I haven’t been on any sort of vacation since August 2012. We could really use the get-away and a romantic, magical train ride looks to be quite the adventure!

  44. christina coy October 14, 2013 at 12:18 pm #

Leavenworth is my favorite place to escape to. In fact, we just got home from Oktoberfest yesterday! But I have never taken a train and have only seen Leavenworth in summer and Oktober. I have dreamed of the beauty this town holds while covered in snow!!! Bring my imagination to life!

  45. Adrienne Russell October 14, 2013 at 12:19 pm #

I moved up to Seattle a few years ago and have tried to make the most out of any bit of time I have off to visit beautiful places in Washington, but I have never been able to make it out to Leavenworth. I have been so jealous of coworkers who have come back from their trips! I would absolutely adore the opportunity to visit. Back in Texas, where I am from, my parents and I would often make the trip out to Fredericksburg, TX which is similar to Leavenworth. It would be so fun to start a new tradition with my lovely gentleman up here! =)

  46. Jon Johnson October 14, 2013 at 12:20 pm #

I have lived here most of my life and never made it to Leavenworth or taken a ride on a train. This falls on our wedding anniversary and I would love to spoil my wife with a surprise romantic ride. Very Dr. Zhivago! :-)

  47. Jenn McConville October 14, 2013 at 12:20 pm #

Would love to visit Leavenworth at Christmas time! We are looking to start holiday traditions with our one year old son and what better tradition then a train ride, lights, music and hopefully snow for him to play in for the first time?! We would love and appreciate this opportunity and have so much fun! :)

What an experience! What a get-away! Oh boy, it would be Christmas magic to win this trip and enjoy a vacation! Thank you for doing this for a lucky someone.

  59. Judy R October 14, 2013 at 12:31 pm #

Since I was a little girl I’ve always wanted to take the snow train into Leavenworth, but we never could afford it. This year will be my boyfriend and my first anniversary and would love a chance to get away from our hectic lives and start making special memories all our own. Thank you!

  60. Jessi Heaton October 14, 2013 at 12:32 pm #

How fun! I would LOVE to take the train to Leavenworth! My sister and I used to go and get our picture taken with Santa there when we were kids. We will be coming home for 2 weeks during Christmas this year. We moved to Florida 7 years ago, and while the sunshine state has its perks, nothing beats the PNW during the holidays! I hope it will be a snowy Christmas, as I haven’t seen the snow in 7 years!!!

  61. Anthony Rosa October 14, 2013 at 12:34 pm #

I would love to be able to win a pair of these tickets for my parents who live in Washington. I grew up in Oak Harbor, and of all the years I lived out there, it was always a treat to be able to go to Leavenworth and see all the shops. I live on the East Coast now, but this would be the perfect holiday gift for my parents!

  62. Kathy October 14, 2013 at 12:35 pm #

I would love to win this! My husband and I recently celebrated our 31st anniversary and I would love to surprise him with this trip!

It sounds magical! It would be wonderful holiday experience for my family, especially my 3 year old son!

  64. HOLLY FOSTER October 14, 2013 at 12:38 pm #

I would love to win because I have never been! I have lived here since 2006 and always hear how beautiful it is. Plus I have never been on a train either! It would be great adventure!

  65. Kasia October 14, 2013 at 12:39 pm #

I would love to win tickets. My boyfriend and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary in Leavenworth back in September. He has a 9 year old daughter that we would love to take for the holidays and see the town and experiance the fun. We try to find things that are local to experiance and make memories as a little family. This would be the perfect way for the 3 of us to start off the holidays and spend time together.

  66. Bridget Moran October 14, 2013 at 12:39 pm #

  68. Courtney King October 14, 2013 at 12:39 pm #

Over the past year my dad has been overcoming his fear of new responsibilities at work, and being away at college makes it hard to support him. I would love to give him a magical day to show how much I love him this Christmas. :)

  69. Amanda October 14, 2013 at 12:40 pm #

This would be so much fun! It is my 7yr anniversary next month and I wanted to go to Leavenworth to celebrate and experience the holiday season in Leavenworth. I imagine that it is incredible. Unfortunately we were never able to get it planned. It would be amazing to win a trip on the snow train.

  72. Teresa Newell October 14, 2013 at 12:41 pm #

That’s something we would love to do. I did the survivor of breast cancer, that took many away from us. Now my husband has pancreas so I need to take care of him so we need some fun and adventure in your lives. Our children live out of state, Texas, California with grandchildren that we don’t have money to go.

  73. Garrett Annexstad October 14, 2013 at 12:43 pm #

Ever since I was a little kid, I always dreamed of living in the Seattle area. I’m now 21 years old and I currently live in Minnesota and have wanted to see what Washington is like and after coming across this post, I thought this could be my chance. Christmas is by far my favorite Holiday and Winter is my favorite season for sure. I saw the picture posted of Leavenworth and just fell in love with it, it just took my breathe away. I’d love to take my mom on a trip away because she needs a break away from the stress in her life more than I do or anyone I know. I’d love nothing more than to go see the city of my dreams and see just how breathtaking Seattle and Leavenworth are in person.

I thank you for taking the time to read my post, I think this would be a great Christmas gift to my mom, but if I’m not a winner, there’s always next time. Thanks for your consideration.

  74. Jacqlyn October 14, 2013 at 12:44 pm #

My husband and I would love to experience this winter wonderland! We wouldn’t be able to afford buying tickets for ourselves, but I’ve always wanted to go to Leavenworth and I’ve dreamed of taking my husband (a native Chicagoan) to the inside of this snow-globe!

  75. Heather October 14, 2013 at 12:47 pm #

I grew up in Seattle and love the area in the winter. My husband has never experienced it the same way I have and would love to take him! Plus I’m trying to talk him into moving to Leavenworth once he graduates. This would be a great opportunity to show him around!

  76. Courtney October 14, 2013 at 12:47 pm #

Oh man, this looks spectacular. I’d love to be able to check this out, my partner and I have been struggling and stressing to make ends meet, and haven’t been able to get out and enjoy ourselves. This looks like such a relaxing, magical adventure.

  77. Stephen Brousseau October 14, 2013 at 12:48 pm #

My wife and I are new parents to a wonderful baby boy, who will be a year old in November. In the past year, we have made sure to be the best parents we can, but in the midst of that, it has left us little time to focus on each other. I have lived in Washington my whole life, and have never been able to make it to Leavenworth for the holidays. In the past few years, it has been time, money or a place to stay that has limited us from going. We would love more than anything to make this a family trip with your help. We would love to be chosen as part of this.

  78. Mike Morgan October 14, 2013 at 12:49 pm #

BeenGoingToLeavenworth For Years But Have Never Been During Christmas. Would Lover This Trip

  79. ashley prentice October 14, 2013 at 12:50 pm #

Well my whole life I lived in Washington. I live on the coast of rainy murky beaches, snow is out of the question. Leavenworth always seemed magical as if it were the northpole. I had always tried to go but money is so tight its out of our reach. It would be nice to see snow that sticks enough to make a snowman. Where the people are nice and tourist are full of joy in there heart. I and my boyfriend would enjoy such a thing to its fulliest extent of its natural beauty and beleiving that such anything can happened. Joy to the world :)

Christmas is my favorite time of year! Would love to take a trip and see Leavenworth decked out at Christmas instead of always seeing it in the summer! Good time to spend with family and create memories.

  81. Camille Hanhardt October 14, 2013 at 12:52 pm #

I would love this!! My husband and I want to so want to go to Germany for Christmas some year.
Leavenworth…the next best thing. My husband is disabled, this would be a great way to travel for him. Thank You!

  82. Anne Gettel October 14, 2013 at 12:53 pm #

Sounds like an amazing end to our rough year. We’ve faced several challenges; furloughed at work, unemplyment, I myself underwent major back surgery while my fiance had elbow surgery. Through these challenges we have continued to support each other, became engaged, and are surrounded and supported by an amazing daughter, family, and friends. This would be a wonderful experience for our family and give us a great family vacation we have yet to experience!

  83. Sarah October 14, 2013 at 12:55 pm #

This would be an amazing trip to win, due to the fact that my boyfriend is a Christmas Scrooge. If anything can bring out the Christmas cheer this would be the thing! I have not given up and each year I gain a little ground, this would be over the top. However, he may just end up being frightened out of his wits and will hate Christmas forever… I’m willing to take the chance. ;)

  84. Georgie R. October 14, 2013 at 1:01 pm #

I could not think of a more romantic trip to one of the most beautiful places on earth. And at a time that my faith in man kind and the true meaning of Christmas always needs restored beings how I work retail. I don’t get a whole lot of time off to travel any great distance over the holidays so this would be perfect for us.

  85. Seth October 14, 2013 at 1:03 pm #

I would like this as a nice get away with my Girlfriend and my 6 yr old son. He luvs trains and would get a kick out of riding one and seeing leavenworth. WInning would be so awesome so i could still give him the xmas and bday he and she both deserve

  86. Karissa Francis October 14, 2013 at 1:03 pm #

I’ve lived in the PNW my entire life and had no idea that this was something we could do. We would have to buy 2 more tickets so our family of 4 could go, but it would be completely worth it. This sounds absolutely amazing and what a great way to get into the spirit!

  87. Andrea Thwaites October 14, 2013 at 1:04 pm #

My husband is Canadian and has never been to Leavenworth. I have told him of my fun times there and would love to surprise him with something extra special for Christmas.

  89. Gabriel O'Meara October 14, 2013 at 1:08 pm #

I would love to win these tickets because unfortunately I’m unable to return home to Iowa to be with my family for Christmas. So this would be a real treat :)

  90. Jenny October 14, 2013 at 1:09 pm #

A holiday snow train to Leavenworth? That sounds amazing! I’ve never seen Leavenworth in the winter, and I can’t imagine a better way to get there.

  91. Diana Brooks October 14, 2013 at 1:09 pm #

December 21st is our first Wedding Anniversary! We LOVE the season, and I can’t think of a more romantic way to spend our day than a local excursion like this!! We have a baby now, so it’s hard to treat ourselves. This would be such a godsend!! :D

  92. Leah B October 14, 2013 at 1:13 pm #

With a little one on the way, we soon won’t be able to take trips like this very often. Would love to make it into a fun holiday “babymoon”!

  93. Shannon Humble October 14, 2013 at 1:16 pm #

This would be a perfect winter gift! My husband and I have been moving due to his job. From Savannah GA to Henderson NV, we haven’t had a snowy Christmas in ages! Now that we are back in the NW, we can’t wait for the winter wonderland!

  94. Alis Lopez October 14, 2013 at 1:21 pm #

It sounds as a magical x’mas:) and it would be the perfect gift. My husband and I went to Leavenworth for a short honeymoon last year and we fall inlove of this lovely town!!this would be a great time to enjoy and remember great events:D

  95. Alex T October 14, 2013 at 1:21 pm #

Oh how I would love to finally win something! I’ve spent the last month and a half taking care of my Aunt in California who was dying of Cancer. She past away August 20th. Since then things haven’t seemed right. this would be an amazing opportunity to be able to get away and ease my mind.

  96. Eli October 14, 2013 at 1:23 pm #

My wife would be so excited to be on a train, through the snow, with holiday decorations, she may have a heart palpitation.

  97. Pam October 14, 2013 at 1:24 pm #

I was seeing this exciting contest as I was on Facebook!!! I haven’t been back in my home town area for a long time! I am originally from Seattle WA and also lived in Easter WA in Spokane. I am now living in Albuquerque NM and I would love so much to come back and see Leavenworth!!! Never have seen it in the winter; I bet it is just spectacular. And I can bring my husband to see the beautiful Leavenworth that I have always talked about and the beautiful state of Washington!!!

  98. Claire October 14, 2013 at 1:27 pm #

My boyfriend lives in a different state so I hardly ever get to see him but he is coming up here for Christmas, this would be the perfect romantic holiday experience!!!

  99. Jessica October 14, 2013 at 1:27 pm #

I grew up in a tropical country and used to just watch christmas movies of snow and about North Pole. This would be an experience of a lifetime for me. I would love to win this trip. It’ll be awesome!!!

  100. Zaza Ba October 14, 2013 at 1:29 pm #

I’ve never been to Leavenworth and if blessed by the opportunity, going there would be a very memorable moment for me, especially since it would be my first time. By just the picture it looks breath taking. I would love to share this moment with my twin sister and girlfriend who I love dearly to my heart. Help me be the 1 out of thousands who are chosen get this chance?

  101. Amanda October 14, 2013 at 1:29 pm #

I would love to win tickets. I just moved to Seattle and this sounds like an amazing experience. My anniversary is on the 22nd of December and I know my husband would love this surprise! Thank you for the chance to win! :)

  104. Lois October 14, 2013 at 1:35 pm #

I would love to go see this beautiful place that is nestled right here in my own home state!

My husband and I don’t get to much “Couple” time with three grown kids living here with us-so this would be a wonderful get away!

    Merry Christmas everyone!

  105. jessica October 14, 2013 at 1:37 pm #

We have wanted to visit Leavenworth during Christmas time for as long as I can remember, but never have. I’m a single mom and a nursing student and just can’t afford do those sorts of things. If I only had to purchase one additional ticket, that could be doable! My kids want to go on a train SO BADLY! During Christmas, The Polar Express is their favorite holiday movie and we talk about how amazing it would be if that story were to actually happen. I think this Seattle Holiday Snow Train to Leavenworth is as close as I could ever possibly imagine to making that dream come true!

  106. Nikki Tatum October 14, 2013 at 1:38 pm #

This trip sounds pretty magical, probably even more so than Disneyland! I think it would be lovely to be able to be a part of this winter wonderland and whoever wins is incredibly lucky. Every detail sounds great, especially the snow and jazz bands though! Crossing my fingers.

  107. Hayley October 14, 2013 at 1:39 pm #

My mother is coming up for Christmas (our first Christmas together in 4 years!) and I want to give her a unique and exciting Christmas present. She loves the snow and hardly ever gets to go (she lives on the Californian coast). I would love to spend a day with her riding a train to a winter wonderland! Please please please!

  108. Adrian Diaz October 14, 2013 at 1:40 pm #

This would be an amazing trip for my family of 5. The kids love riding in the train and seeing Santa going in and out of the snow covered mountain would be amazing.

  109. Elissa Sime October 14, 2013 at 1:40 pm #

I love Leavenworth! The Christmas event was a part of my childhood…so many good memories! Would love to make more.

  110. nicole October 14, 2013 at 1:45 pm #

I would love the chance to do something nice for my mom. She doesn’t have any money this season and hasn’t done anything like this in over 10 years. It would mean a lot for me to be able to take her on such a wonderful trip.

  111. washsquarehomes October 14, 2013 at 1:47 pm #

Oh, I would so love to go. I would definitely love to experience a wonderful winter wonderland.
It’s been a very stressful and sad year. This trip would be a great way to get into the holiday spirit and jumpstart my new year. Thanks for the chance.

  112. nicole October 14, 2013 at 1:47 pm #

My mom hasn’t been able to go on a trip or do something like this in 10 years. It would mean so much if I could take her to do this so she didn’t spend the holiday season doing nothing. I just want to do something special for her.

  113. Greg October 14, 2013 at 1:52 pm #

This would be a fantastic holiday spent in a fancy place!

  114. Adriane October 14, 2013 at 1:54 pm #

I am a single mom of 2 boys who have not been blessed with the chance to visit leavenworth due to the price. This would be an opportunity of a life time for my children and to give myself some new renown hope. Christmas is their favorite time just for the music, and the spirit that is tied in to it and not so much as the presents, but if I was able to surprise them with a trip to the town where Christmas is felt, that would be miraculous.

  115. Marcy October 14, 2013 at 1:54 pm #

We LOVE Leavenworth! It’s one of our favorite places in Washington. We just had our first baby who continues to have medical issues. It’s been a long, stressful year and to have the opportunity to take our son to the most magical place for a Christmastime adventure would be invaluable to us. :)

  116. Monique October 14, 2013 at 1:59 pm #

I would love to win. My husband and I got married in leavenworth in decmber. We go to the tree lighting very year! Would love to go on the train!

  117. Angela W. October 14, 2013 at 2:01 pm #

This sounds amazing! I can’t think of a better way to spend Christmas AND our 12th wedding anniversary!

  118. William W. October 14, 2013 at 2:02 pm #

I always complain about retailers rushing the holidays, but after reading this I can’t WAIT for Christmas!

  119. Greg Noack October 14, 2013 at 2:03 pm #

I would love to take my wife to Leavonworth. The last yr was hard, I lost my job, then got another job but it paid alot less than I was making. She stuck by me and encouraged me, and I got a better job, and make more money and I am alot happier and work close to home. She stuck by me. We are also going to be grandparents for the first time in the first week of Nov, we have never been to Leavenworth in the winter. I would love to take her to celebrate being grandparents and buying nick nacks for a grandson. Thanks for reading my reply.

  120. cococorbin October 14, 2013 at 2:03 pm #

My husband is a full-time fire fighter and an awesome dad to our 5 teenagers. I’d love to surprise him with trip to his favorite Leavenworth!

  121. Lisa Presley October 14, 2013 at 2:05 pm #

I saw this advertisement on my Face Book. I have never heard of this train for Christmas. I would love to do this and take my 8 year old daughter with me. She loves santa clause and Christmas . If blessed surely appreciate it If I was picked to give my daughter a trip she would remember a lifetime.

  122. Janelle October 14, 2013 at 2:07 pm #

My fiancé loves Leavenworth. It’s such a special place for him because it reminds him of his father. His father passed away a few years ago and my fiancé decided to spread his ashes along the river there. He now takes his son there and has continued with the tradition. I would love to surprise him with tickets! Our money is tight right now, so it would be amazing to win these!!! Thank you for the opportunity!

  123. Lisa Presley October 14, 2013 at 2:08 pm #

I haven’t been on vacation in 8 years. I have always wanted to take my daughter someplace special. This would be so awesome to experience this with her.

  124. Russell October 14, 2013 at 2:12 pm #

This would make a great present for myself and my wife. Our anniversary is Dec. 7, and we have had a rough year dealing with health and the lose of a family member. I was recently cleared by my doctor to be cancer free, and this special trip would be a wonderfull way to end this year and to start fresh for 2014. We have visited Levenworth in the summer, and have always wanted to see it in the winter. Please help make our Christmas wish come true. Thank you!

  125. Bobby October 14, 2013 at 2:13 pm #

Oh man, this would be amazing. I used to live Seattle and one of my earliest memories was taking a trip to Leavenworth with my family. I couldn’t imagine a better way to revisit my childhood than by taking my girlfriend and celebrating Christmas on the train!

  126. Michelle L. October 14, 2013 at 2:14 pm #

Traveling to Leavenworth by car is nice, but traveling there by train would be amazing! It would be wonderful to enjoy the beautiful scenery from a different perspective from the train tracks, and I have never traveled there by train. The holiday decor and catered food would be a fantastic bonus to the trip.

  127. Bobby October 14, 2013 at 2:15 pm #

I haven’t been back to Seattle in about 20 years. It would be amazing.

  128. Patrick October 14, 2013 at 2:18 pm #

My wife and I grew up in the Midwest and we miss real snows in winter… it’s what makes being cold so worth it! Winning this would make our holidays that much more like being home.

  129. Faith Locke Siewert October 14, 2013 at 2:20 pm #

We would love this! My husband and I rate Leavenworth our favourite place to get into the Christmas spirit !!

  130. NN October 14, 2013 at 2:21 pm #

I’ve never done anything like this before, so would love to go on a holiday train ride. It sounds like a wonderfully, amazing time. Pick me, please!

  131. tronika reiber October 14, 2013 at 2:23 pm #

We would love this trip because our family loves Christmas and is so excited to finally make it to the North Pole. We would love to visit the town, tour the toyshops, sing carols in town center, and hug Santa. Cheers to all! and Good Luck! There is something magical about sharing a place like this with your family.

  135. Ana Cardoso October 14, 2013 at 2:32 pm #

It would be a wish come true to ride a train and visit Leavenworth for the first time!!! My family and I haven’t been on a train ride and would love to experience it. I can only imagine how magical and beautiful Leavenworth must be in December. I’ve heard of great experiences families have experienced there but due to our financial hardship we haven’t had a family vacation in years. This would truely be an amazing Christmas gift for my family if we win those tickets :) A dream come true for us for sure!!!

  136. Julie October 14, 2013 at 2:38 pm #

I would love to be able to give my parents such a great surprise! My mother is a stay at home mom with Multiple Sclerosis and my dad works 6 days a week at our local post office, so they rarely have the chance to get away. They are also on a tight budget due to my mother being retired from nursing and recently supporting my sisters and I through college.

They lived in Germany for a short-while, where my sister was born, while my dad was active military- a magical Bavarian Christmas trip would be the perfect way for the two of them to have some fun and reminisce!

  137. Sheri Shaw October 14, 2013 at 2:42 pm #

Would love to take my daughter who has never been to Leavenworth. We just moved here two years ago and she has seen very little snow. This would be the ultimate trip for her to experience. We have heard so many wonderful things about Leavenworth, but think the ultimate mini trip would be to win this Holiday Snow Train adventure!! Was a special trip this would be and a holiday experience of a lifetime!! Please choose us, we could never afford this opportunity without winning these tickets!! <3

  138. Vicky Griffith October 14, 2013 at 2:43 pm #

I’m dreaming of a white Christmas and this is exactly where I imagine it to be. The train sounds delicious, have never gone on one before, besides, love a man with a beard and uniform and I hear there are a few of them running around Leavenworth, I’m told to look for the man in red.

  139. Mark S October 14, 2013 at 2:44 pm #

I have lived in Washington for 8 years now and have never been able to afford to take a trip like this. I would love to see Leavenworth around my birthday and Christmas. We as a family can’t afford to take trips together. We haven’t ever been on a vacation together.

  140. Jessica Osuna October 14, 2013 at 2:48 pm #

Sounds like fun for the whole family!

  141. Vanessa Tinkham October 14, 2013 at 2:50 pm #

It will be my husband and I 10 year anniversary and I can’t think of a better place to spend it. We have always wanted to ride the train to Leavenworth but he was only home for a few days during the holidays. This would b be the best anniversary present ever.

  142. Trilby B October 14, 2013 at 2:52 pm #

I would love to go back to Washington State! I would SO SO SO enjoy taking a trip like this with my boyfriend and experience the beautiful winter weather on the west coast! Pick me! :)

  143. Victoria October 14, 2013 at 2:53 pm #

Winter winds, warmth from a potbelly stove, smells of freshly baked cookies, and magic in the air. We all need miracle to happen this holiday season. I used to live in Seattle but had to move to different state and never had a chance to travel to Leavenworth in winter. In the spirit of the season, I would love to get a chance to return to Seattle and have a ride on a this Holiday Snow Train with my daughter. “One thing about trains: It doesn’t matter where they’re goin’. What matters is deciding to get on.” Everything is possible as long as we believe…..

  144. Rhonda B October 14, 2013 at 2:59 pm #

I would love to win this. It would be such a great getaway for my husband and I to celebrate our 24th anniversary. I love Leavenworth in the winter and trains are one of my favorite things.

  145. Holly Hintz October 14, 2013 at 3:00 pm #

I would love to go on a train to Leavenworth! It sounds magical!

  146. Karri Tilton October 14, 2013 at 3:03 pm #

It would be a wonderful way to spend the holiday season with my husband and son. I have been to Leavenworth and absolutely love it!! I would love to be able to experience this excursion. Going on a train would be such a fun way to bring in the holiday season, plus I’d be able to take our son to the hat shop!!

  147. Zandra Hansen October 14, 2013 at 3:03 pm #

My husband and I are spending our first Christmas in Washington together this year! He has never experienced a Christmas in Washington, so I would like this opportunity to show him a stellar one. I would love to show him how amazing it is here. This trip would be fantastic. A beautiful adventure to the most spirited Christmas town in Washington, and a train ride for the kid in us. Perfect! Please pick us! This would be an unforgettable experience.

  149. Tamara W. October 14, 2013 at 3:04 pm #

I have a young man who is growing so quickly. He is ever more independant and finding more opportunties to engage in his busy busy life. He has expressed over the past few years how fun it would be to take a train and have a fun day. How great would this be for my husband, myself and our son some fun and memorable moments together! Priceless!!!

  150. j Griffith October 14, 2013 at 3:10 pm #

Dear Bucket List, your number is up, I am dying…….that is….dying to go to Leavenworth which is #2 on my list and ride on a train which is #1 on my list of things to do before I die.

  151. Dianne Hill October 14, 2013 at 3:16 pm #

Fingers crossed…We are expatriating back to Washington state from area where Christmas is not observed except for small pockets of expats in compounds..I love Christmas. Grew up singing Christmas carols in the back of trucks through the streets and old folks homes..
I would love to have a magical moment this season..

  152. Alexandria Davis October 14, 2013 at 3:17 pm #

Leavenworth is my favorite place to vacation in Washington but I haven’t been in 4 years because I’ve been away at college in Atlanta, GA. I graduate this December with my Bachelors and will be returning home for the winter. I’ve been wanting to take my Fiance (who is away at school in Portland) to Leavenworth for a few years now because he’s never been and I’m constantly telling him how amazing it is. This trip for us will be celebratory of my completion of undergrad and a beautiful getaway for my fiancé and I! I would love to experience the beauty of Leavenworth in the winter time, this would be a complete blessing!

  153. Sara Brock October 14, 2013 at 3:19 pm #

Wow– didn’t know that a cool holiday train ride to Leavenworth was available. What an awesome gift for my kids this would be. Never been to Leavenworth in the winter– not fond of winter driving– but to travel by train would be incredible. Keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks for the chance to win.

Me ad my fiancé would live this to take our daughter to. We have just moved back to Washington could not stay away and I wanted to do this last year but now that we have out daughter it would be so magical for her to see all the Christmas decorations and Santa, since we did not see him last year. We would be thrilled to be able to go on this trip!

  158. Brooke Maggie Hubbard October 14, 2013 at 3:44 pm #

I would love to take this mini adventure with my boyfriend. Our anniversary is right around there and we have been looking for a small trip to take together. This would be perfect.

    Crossing Fingers! :)

  159. Josh W October 14, 2013 at 3:48 pm #

I am the living embodiment of the Grinch, tiny heart and spiteful of the Who’s of Whoville, though my fur is more dirty blonde than green. I do however love my wife and she’s more of the Cindy Lou Who type, and she’s SUPER cute, so I admit my heart grows (ever so slightly mind you!) at the thought of giving my lovely lady Who a Wubbulous winter wonderland trip to her favorite Xmas tourist destination.

  160. Chris October 14, 2013 at 3:48 pm #

I would live out every childhood fantasy of riding the Polar Express.

  161. Megan October 14, 2013 at 3:48 pm #

December 7th is my mom’s birthday and I would love to give this trip to her as a present. Although this is her 6th decade of life, her advocacy for young people in education has kept her youthful all these years. She works so hard, we’ve never been on a vacation together… so The Snow Train would be such a great treat.

  162. Jenni Jenni October 14, 2013 at 3:51 pm #

    I have never visited Leavenworth and now would be a perfect time as I have met ‘the man’ and would love to experience it with him! Please :}

  163. James T. October 14, 2013 at 3:52 pm #

I would love to win this to treat my wife to a nice escape that she truly deserves. I am currently getting medically discharged from the military and the situation and uncertainty of our future has been hard on both of us, but even more so on her as she stays by my side to keep me healthy and keep pushing me forward. A wonderful trip like this would be a great relief for her and a perfect thank you

  164. Jill October 14, 2013 at 4:01 pm #

I would love to be able to take my 13 year old niece to Leavenworth via the train. She would love it so much; it would be the best Christmas present ever!

Leavenworth is one of the greatest must sees in the state that all people should see, especially in the winter. With the current times hard for some of us, it would be a wonderful experience to be given the opportunity to be able to go on such a glorious adventure.

I’ve never been there! I so want to go and see the town in person and take pictures.

  170. lindsey October 14, 2013 at 4:51 pm #

Would love to have a fun date night with my husband. Three young kids keep us busy! We don’t get away much, and when we do it’s definitely not something as amazing as this train trip would be!

  171. tara October 14, 2013 at 4:52 pm #

My husband and I only have one year left for his time in the Navy here in the PacNW–then we’re headed back South (as such, we never saw much snow growing up in Florida). We wanted to do this last year but he wasn’t able to get the time off! We would love to be considered for this contest!

  172. Heather Chambers October 14, 2013 at 4:56 pm #

This would be such an amazing opportunity, one that just wouldn’t normally be available to us! This would make an amazing late honeymoon. My husband and I got married last year; we were unable to take a honeymoon due to finances and my class schedule–I was taking a class on DeafBlind interpreting. Since I was a little girl, Christmas has been my favorite time of year, and I’ve always wanted to go to Leavenworth.

  173. Elizabeth October 14, 2013 at 5:03 pm #

My boyfriend and I haven’t gone on a getaway trip together thus far and this would be perfect since our anniversary is in December! :)

  174. Jackie Kleser October 14, 2013 at 5:03 pm #

My husband and I have been living in the Seattle area for seven years now and have yet to make it to Leavenworth for the holiday. I have heard so many wonderful stories. Now that my daughter has started college we may have to wait a little longer. Her college before our playtime. Well, we can always drive if we have to but how awesome it would be to watch the snow covered terrain as it zooms past our window on the train. Always been waiting to do the train for Christmas.

  175. Thuan October 14, 2013 at 5:05 pm #

I’ve always wanted to visit this winter wonderland but have no gotten the opportunity to. I would LOVE to take the train there this winter!!!

  176. Yvonne K October 14, 2013 at 5:05 pm #

My daughter would love this trip. She is 3 yrs old and is at that perfect age to appreciate the beautiful sights and the excitement. I have never been able to enjoy such an experience with my daughter and husband and would love it.

  177. Veronica N. October 14, 2013 at 5:13 pm #

I’ve never been there in the Winter. I’d love to go see the snow, lights and Christmas decorations.

  178. dorothy spitzock October 14, 2013 at 5:18 pm #

I would like to go to Leavenworth in the winter, I have never been.

  179. destiny scott October 14, 2013 at 5:19 pm #

I could use the Christmas spirit. Thanks.

  180. john stewart October 14, 2013 at 5:21 pm #

I am housebound most of the time because I don’t drive and would love to go there safe and sound.

  181. dale spitzock October 14, 2013 at 5:22 pm #

I would like to win for my wife and also the Spirit of Christmas.

  182. Samantha October 14, 2013 at 5:22 pm #

I didn’t get a chance to feel the holiday spirit last year because I was visiting family in Indonesia, where it was hot and muggy and the Christmas spirit there was just not the same, plus I missed the White Christmas last year :( lol. I would love to go with my parents to for this amazing experience! …I’ve never ridden a train before, this could be my first! :D

  183. Msjbelle October 14, 2013 at 5:23 pm #

Oh man that looks super duper cool and fun! Heavenly. I would love to win. What a beautiful place.

  184. ASHTON October 14, 2013 at 5:27 pm #

Please pick me.I am far from my boyfriend right and I would love to talk him on a romantic trip to this winter wonderland when he comes back.We have made a lot of changes in our lives to accommodate his career. He works long hours and takes care of all our finances.I would love the chance to show him how much I appreciate what he’s doing for us and for our future but sending him on this trip.

  185. hayley l. October 14, 2013 at 5:28 pm #

We’ve moved here just over three years ago from Portland, OR. We’ve been told the Holiday Snow Train to Leavenworth is THE Washington area must-do! Would love to get our family in the holiday spirit with this great opportunity. Thanks so much for the chance!

  186. Jeni October 14, 2013 at 5:33 pm #

Please pick me! I have been wanting to do this forever and it would be such an amazing experience to take my 9 year old daughter on for a mommy-daughter day.

  187. Tanya October 14, 2013 at 5:39 pm #

Would love for my family go and see amazning Leavenworth during Christmas season!

  188. Jennifer Kennedy October 14, 2013 at 5:51 pm #

I would love to take my mom because she’s never been!

  189. Tracy October 14, 2013 at 5:53 pm #

We have lived in WA for 9 years and haven’t made it to Leavenworth yet. We were just talking about trying it out sometime and this would be the perfect way to do it! Plus, it would make a great birthday gift for my husband who was born the day after Christmas, poor guy.

  190. Jeanne Whiteneck October 14, 2013 at 5:55 pm #

We live in the central California area and we love visiting Washington. Our kids are at the age where trains and Christmas go together add snow and it becomes magical.

  191. Yaneth García October 14, 2013 at 6:06 pm #

We LOVE Leavenworth! Taking my kids to experience it by train would be so fun!

  192. Jackie October 14, 2013 at 6:30 pm #

I would love to win these tickets for my fiancé! We just got engaged and this is his first Christmas in Washington state! We love christmas so much and can’t wait to spend our first christmas as an engaged couple together. Please help us celebrate!

  193. Kathleen Tillman October 14, 2013 at 6:32 pm #

Leavenworth was my fathers favorite place to visit during the holidays. He passed away this last May and was not able to attend my wedding. My new husband and I have been together for 7 years however and we have never been able to go anywhere alone together. Our kids and circumstances have just not allowed it. He has only been to Leavenworth one time. We would love to go in rememberance of my dad and to have some holiday joy for a very emotional year.

  194. Mrs Jones October 14, 2013 at 6:43 pm #

I would love to go. I have never been on a train in the snow or the mountains-this would be awesome. We just moved to Washington a few weeks ago and had not heard of this magical looking place until now. We love Christmas and my daughter has never been on a train at all, it would make her year!

  195. Sam October 14, 2013 at 6:52 pm #

I want to go. It’s so beautiful.

  196. Caitlin Negri October 14, 2013 at 7:08 pm #

I just went on a train for the first time a few weeks ago and had a blast. My boyfriend is military and from the south and has never been to Leavenworth. I’d love to take him up for a surprise to not only enjoy the beautiful landscape of the state I grew up in, but to have a nice getaway from the city. We’re both on a budget due to being full-time students too. This would be such a treat for us!

  197. Colleen October 14, 2013 at 7:14 pm #

I would love to surprise my boyfriend with a trip like this. He has kind of a skewed view of all the joys for the Christmas season. To start, his birthday is the day after (the 26th) so his friends and family always seem to get caught up in the holidays, leaving his special day in the dust. On top of this, he has worked at Toys R’Us for the past 5 Christmases, while he enjoys his job some people use and abuse salespeople during the holiday season. He is a great guy and I would LOVE to win a trip like this to take him on a reminder of why the holiday season is such a special time of year.

  198. Jessica Buchanan October 14, 2013 at 7:18 pm #

I have always wanted to go to Leavenworth during the holidays and have never had the opportunity to go. Everything about it sounds perfect! My birthday is December 23rd and going to Leavenworth to celebrate would be an amazing!

  199. Christiane October 14, 2013 at 7:23 pm #

I would absolutely love going on this trip with my husband, he is an avid train lover and we absolutely love Leavenworth. Being from Germany I miss it very much and Leavenworth is like a mini vacation to my homeland. To think that we would be able to sit all snuggled up on the train, sipping on some hot chocolate while watching the beautiful landscape. It would be wonderful treat for us. Thank you for having such a wonderful give away!!

  200. Dan Jones October 14, 2013 at 7:30 pm #

Winter is such a romantic time and what could be a better than a train ride to such a beautiful place to take my beautiful wife.

  201. Jayla Bailey October 14, 2013 at 7:30 pm #

I would love to win these tickets, because I lived in WA for 4 years, years ago, and I loved the environment there! I currently reside in California and I much prefer the weather in WA. I miss the people and the vibe that WA gives off. There’s nothing like spending Christmas in WA, the cold allows people to snuggle and to actually use their fireplaces!

  202. Amber Miko October 14, 2013 at 7:43 pm #

This is our first year in WA and we’ll be without our family. This would totally make up for my son not being able to play with all his grandparents, cousins and aunties. Please help make this year a memorable one.

  203. Tatiana October 14, 2013 at 7:59 pm #

It would be an amazing surprise to my husband who works overseas and the next time I see him will be in December. I love Leavenworth and i picture it as a nice get away time for the two of us before he heads back to Colombia in January.

  204. Judy October 14, 2013 at 7:59 pm #

Leavenworth is magical and I love spending time there with that special community.

  205. Tara October 14, 2013 at 8:32 pm #

I would love to win these tickets because I simply LOVE Christmas time and cannot afford this trip on my own. I wanted to go last year for my birthday (Dec. 4th), but we couldn’t fit it in the finances so it would be so awesome to finally go. My son would love it as well! Yay!

  206. Sandy Brown October 14, 2013 at 8:32 pm #

Oh, pleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleaseplease! If you choose me I will be eternally grateful and will sing your praises for the rest of my life.

  207. Emily W October 14, 2013 at 8:34 pm #

My son would be in absolute heaven if we took him on a train! Only time my husband and I were there, I was very sick and very pregnant and would love to go back when I was feeling better! I have heard the lights are awesome!!

  208. Anne Ryan October 14, 2013 at 9:11 pm #

I would love to win this trip. Believe it or not, I have never experienced this trip ~ even being a native of Seattle. Why? Because I’m deathly afraid of driving in the snow, especially over the pass, so I just sigh and dream of going but never get up the courage to do so. This would be such an amazing way to see the beautiful snow but not have to worry about it. I’d love to surprise my husband with this trip!! Thank you!!

  209. Carmen Krueger October 14, 2013 at 9:13 pm #

Oh, I would love those tickets. I am from Germany and I miss home and the Christkindlmarkt and the snowy mountains! Getting there by train would be so much like at home and definitely a beautiful trip based on the picture above.

  210. Curtis Walton October 14, 2013 at 9:15 pm #

My wife and I just got married. We’re just starting our life together and this would be fun to do for our first Christmas married.

  211. Betsy Wharton October 14, 2013 at 9:22 pm #

I have a friend who has been talking about trying to get to Leavenworth on the train, for the tree lighting, and – well – just to see how pretty it is at Christmastime with all the lights and snow. And music! We go each year and stay with some friends, so if I won tickets I know exactly who I’d give them to. She’s amazing.

  212. Genie October 14, 2013 at 9:37 pm #

As my husband would say everything looks better in snow. I am pretty sure being in a train would assist with this imagery.

  213. Ed October 14, 2013 at 9:49 pm #

    Frohe Weihnachten!

  214. Tina October 14, 2013 at 9:56 pm #

Wow! I have never heard of anything like this before. New to settle and I would absolutely love to go!!!

  215. Ali October 14, 2013 at 10:02 pm #

We are expecting a baby any day and would love to have a little getaway for Christmas! I’ve never been to Leavenworth but always wanted to go, and Christmas is my favourite time of year!

  216. Jerrilyn Sanchez October 14, 2013 at 10:05 pm #

My family and I have never been to Leavenworth and we could really use some quality time together. Due to our job situations, my husband has been living in another state. It would be a dream come true to have a little adventure when he comes down for Christmas. We have two little boys that would have so much fun!

  217. Dan October 14, 2013 at 10:40 pm #

would love to be dashing through the snow in an amtrak loaded train, through the fields we’d troll, laughing all the way….

  218. Jessica Hebert October 14, 2013 at 11:00 pm #

This is my first winter back since moving back from Tennessee to my home sweet home WA State! I sulked through the uneventful winters for 3 yrs as I supported my soldier off at war and watched Washingtonians enjoy their winters (or not as they tend to get whiney at a certain point) through FB postings.
I’m back and ready for winter and all that it entails! I’ve missed it so! <3

  219. Sandy October 14, 2013 at 11:10 pm #

After my husband fighting cancer for two years and beating it recently and now my grand baby in ICU, nothing would be better then to take a ride to the other side and see the magical colors of the lights and snow.

    • Laura Ferguson October 15, 2013 at 11:21 am #

I think you should pick them…they need to get away and enjoy life nite…I almost died last year until I had major surgery to save my life and I have a newborn grandson in the NICU in Seattle he has been there since he was born 2 months ago and he won’t be coming home until either the end of this month or middle of next month so I understand their struggle. Give it to them.

  220. Neoma Lawrenson October 15, 2013 at 12:16 am #

Since we don’t drive in possible snowy weather anymore, this would be such a special way to celebrate the start of the Christmas season. Thanks for providing this chance.

  221. Camille October 15, 2013 at 12:43 am #

My mom and I have never been able to take a trip together and I would love to take her on a trip like this before I leave home – especially since it’s my last Christmas at home, it would make this trip even more special.. It would be a wonderful experience and a great opportunity to spend some fun, quality time with her before it’s too late. Who knows when the next time I could do something like this with her. Thank you for giving such a great gift, to whoever may win :)

  222. Dina October 15, 2013 at 12:46 am #

This sounds like a vacation of a lifetime. I haven’t been able to go on a real vacation in over 25 years and need to experience this amazing get away full of unique fun and adventure. I would so very much appreciate taking in the sites and experiencing all this trip is offering. I would simply love being given this opportunity and would sing your praises forever.

  223. Suzanne October 15, 2013 at 6:59 am #

I would love to win this as a surprise for my husband , we will be married 29 years on November 24 and didn’t get a honeymoon. Our children are adults 25 & 22 years old now and
I thought this would be something special just for the 2 of us.

  224. Shauna October 15, 2013 at 8:09 am #

The last time we went over the pass in the winter we ended up crashing down a snowy slope about 10 min out of Leavenworth WITH my 5 month old in the car. I need a do-over. Besides, it’s my birthday mid-December and I’ve been searching for something killer to do.

  225. Evelyn October 15, 2013 at 8:13 am #

I would love to win this, my fiance is from New York and I keep telling him how amazing Leavenworth is at Christmas time but we never have money to go. This would be a great treat for us as we have not been on a date in months with two small children and lack of finances. Please pick me so that I can have some time away from my kiddos and gain a little bit of sanity back:)

  226. KAS October 15, 2013 at 8:37 am #

The photo of Leavenworth on my Facebook newsfeed is gorgeous -that’s what drew me to read the post. I’m glad I did, the trip sounds amazing! My daughter has her 21st birthday coming up in December and I would love, love, love to make it special. We have had some unfortunate events happen recently and this would sure be uplifting and a blessing for her!

  227. Lisa Zwirner October 15, 2013 at 8:54 am #

I was born in Leavenworth, KS that is. But heard Leavenworth WA is spectacular in the winter would love to go!

  228. Dorothy October 15, 2013 at 9:00 am #

I would love to win this trip to Leavenworth. I have always wanted to go on the snow train but the funds have never been available. This would be a great experience for me to enjoy with my boyfriend. Pick me! :)

  229. AmBeR October 15, 2013 at 9:42 am #

Myself and family would love to go to Leavenworth, we’ve never been even though we live so close :( I think my little girls would have the time of their lives and my husband could deffently use the time off doing something fun with his family, so please pick us :) thanks for reading.

  230. Paulena Banks October 15, 2013 at 10:02 am #

I have lived in Washington for 5 yrs and still have not made it there for the Christmas season. In the pictures I’ve seen, its magical like out of a story book; I would love to see it in person.
Good luck everyone & to who ever wins Have fun. =)

  231. Jolene Hyink October 15, 2013 at 10:02 am #

As much as I selfishly would love to win a trip like this for myself and my hubby who is due back from Afghanistan at the end of the month; I feel that friends in our lives deserve this the most. She is a cancer survivor, who never lost her spirit of helping and showing compassion. The entire time my husband has been deployed she has been there for me and my daughter anytime I needed her. They have lived here their entire lives and love and give to so many people. This would be a great thank you for all they do!

  232. Carrie Renner October 15, 2013 at 10:17 am #

I would love to get in on this! I love Christmas time and singing. Leavenworth is one of my favorite little cozy towns, please pick me!!!

  233. Laura Ferguson October 15, 2013 at 11:12 am #

I would love to go, I have loved here my whole life and never been to Leavenworth. I have always wanted to go, but never had the money to make the trip. It would be something to share with my fiance and rekindle our romance because we have been stressing a lot and we need something to get us back into our groove. What a better way to get back on track than a little getaway together to one of the most romantic places in Washington (from what we’ve heard it’s gorgeous and romantic). If you pick me, it will not be unappreciated. Oh and I’ve never been on a vacation in my life so that would be my first one even if it is for just a weekend.

  234. Olivia Partington October 15, 2013 at 12:34 pm #

I would like to go because I recently moved back to Seattle and would love to be able to experience Christmas time with my family the way I always remember growing up! I want to bring my family closer together again and this would be the perfect way to do that. I would so appreciate it!!!

  235. Sarah October 15, 2013 at 1:05 pm #

My husband is military and gone a lot. The month of December is our anniversary and I would love to surprise him with this beautiful trip!! We have heard a lot about this place called Levensworrh but have not been able to go yet!! We would greatly appreciate the tickets!!

  236. Lynne October 15, 2013 at 1:59 pm #

I would love to win this trip and take my son. Never been to Leavenworth, but have always wanted to go after hearing others talk about how beautiful it is at Christmas time. Thanks for the chance to win :)

I would love to see this part of The Pacific Northwest ( : What a wonderful experience. I hope I am fortunate enough to win. Aloha!!

  238. Geoff B. October 15, 2013 at 7:16 pm #

I’d love to win this adventure! My wife’s birthday is December 7th and I would greatly enjoy being able to whisk her away for a magical train ride to the cozy mountain town of Leavenworth. How romantic! Thanks for the opportunity.

  239. Gretchen O October 15, 2013 at 7:27 pm #

One of my favorite memories growing up was coming to see my aunt is Seattle. She took us skiing and we stopped at Leavenworth on the way home. I remember thinking it was just like being in a movie. The Christmas lights reflected off snow covered buildings and the store windows were partially fogged allowing just glimpses of all the treasures inside. Now that I’m the adult, it would be a wonderful dream to relive all while watching the next generation of my family experience the wonder that comes alive at Christmas.

  240. Vicki Carrell October 15, 2013 at 8:47 pm #

I would love to win these tickets for my wonderful Mom and Dad:) they raised four girls!! My Dad worked on the railroad when I was born (53 years ago!) He would love to take the train somewhere wonderful like the Snow Train to Leavenworth. I told my Dad about the Snow Train to Leavenworth (I took a few years back) and how scenic and beautiful the train ride was with, snow, singing on the train, lunch&dinner on the train, nice staff, and the beautiful tree lightning in the evening before we left to catch the train back. My Dad and Mom both said that would be wonderful to take the Snow Train to Leavenworth! This would be my Christmas gift to them:)

  241. shelley October 16, 2013 at 6:31 pm #

I would like to celebrate this year. I haven’t done anything for the holidays in years so I would appreciate taking a friend and getting out on what would be the perfect holiday for me….going on the train to Leavenworth. Meeting others, snow, and magic…I cant think of anything better. Thank you!

I would really love to attend this with my girlfriend. This will be our first Christmas together and this will make it very special. I’ve always wanted to see Leavenworth around Christmas time as well. This would be the best present to give to my SO.

  244. Jen October 17, 2013 at 10:14 am #

This would be an incredible experience to have with my Mom, we both love Leavenworth and have not been there during the holidays…PICK ME PLEEEEASE!!!

  245. Drew October 17, 2013 at 11:38 am #

I was there last year during a tree lighting and it was amazing.

i would love to see the full event.

  246. Krystal October 17, 2013 at 12:23 pm #

This will be my first Christmas without seeing my family, so this would be a nice distraction from the loneliness. Plus, it looks like it’ll remind me of the quaint Christmas small towns of back home, which would be comforting. Thanks for your consideration!

  247. Allie October 17, 2013 at 2:22 pm #

It has always been our dream to one day see Leavenworth in all its holiday glory. What a lovely treat this would be! We have recently fallen on harder times and had to use our ‘Christmas Fund’ to pay outstanding bills or else we would have already booked! Best of luck to all, ho-ho-ho!

  248. Vincea October 17, 2013 at 3:45 pm #

What a great place to get away.

  249. Teri October 17, 2013 at 3:57 pm #

My new wife (Aug 2013) and I have celebrated the previous two years together by surprising each other with one night away from all the family obligations around the holidays (we both have children from previous marriages) and taking one night to ourselves in a hotel. What an amazing surprise it would be this first Christmas together to not only be able to take her to Leavenworth on the train, to a city she has never been, but during the magical winter time! I have to admit, it would not only be for her. While I have been to the city a couple of times I have always wanted to see it in the snow and I have never ridden the train. I cannot imagine anything more romantic!

  250. T October 17, 2013 at 4:10 pm #

Trains AND Leavenworth AND Carols :)

  251. jezbian October 17, 2013 at 4:17 pm #

My gf and i went to leavenworth back at the beginning of this year when our relationship was still pretty new – now we have surpassed the one year mark and i would LOVE to surprise her with this trip as she really enjoyed the town – and when it is all lit up with holiday lights it’ll be magical and perhaps a good place to propose to her now that we can get married in WA!

  252. Alena October 17, 2013 at 4:17 pm #

    This sounds magical!

  253. John October 17, 2013 at 4:24 pm #

We have never been to Leavenworth for the Christmas holidays. It would be an absolute blessing to win these tickets for my love and her 4 and 6 year old. They have never experienced anything like this before. Hope this happens for us because this is our very FIRST Christmas together as a family!

  254. helen October 17, 2013 at 4:36 pm #

OMG!! OMG!! OMG!! This would be the best trip ever, I’ll be one lucky girl if I get this, I can hardly imagine anyone loving snow more than me. Fingers crossed!

  255. Christine October 17, 2013 at 5:11 pm #

I’ve never been. It looks magical!

  256. Patricia October 17, 2013 at 6:27 pm #

My husband and I have never been to Leavenworth together. We would love to take a trip!

  257. Tracy October 17, 2013 at 6:38 pm #

This sounds like an amazing trip. My family history is full of wonderful experiences in this beautiful state and I have enjoyed exploring the neighborhoods and places that my Mother, Grandparents, and Great-Grandparents lived in and enjoyed. I am not myself a Washington Native as my Mother who used to ride the Virginia V Steamship to summer camp on Vashon Island had moved away to NYC, met my Father and later gave birth to me in California. Now that Mom and her little Brother with his family are all back here, we love to take trips around the state together and this would be a magical Holiday experience for us to add to the treasure trove!

  258. Judi October 17, 2013 at 7:40 pm #

I’ve never done this – my friends from Germany will be here! That would be fantastic!

  270. April October 18, 2013 at 11:35 pm #

This event sounds AMAZING!!! This year has been a very difficult one, with my fathers passing and financial troubles to name just a few, I haven’t had the opportunity to heal, live, or enjoy life. I haven’t been out of the city in 6 years so this would be a wonderful way to step away from the rut and learn to live again. I’ve never been on a train and that is on my top ten to do list. And leavenworth is magical that time of year. I really hope to win tickets. ! Thank you for this opportunity.

  271. Pat October 19, 2013 at 7:44 am #

Sounds amazing! Just moved my family from the midwest area this year and have been searching for a special way to celebrate the holidays together. I anticipate our kids (7 and 9) will be a bit homesick as the holidays approach. This is our first Christmas away from grandmas/grandpas and that frozen winter precipitation we Ohioans refer to as snow. This would be an incredible way to celebrate a white Christmas in true Pacific NW style.

  272. Jennifer October 19, 2013 at 10:40 am #

I have wanted to go on the Snow Train for years and have never been able to afford it. I would love to win tickets!

  273. Shayla October 19, 2013 at 2:14 pm #

December is the most wonderful time of the year… and this would be an amazing experience for myself and two little ones. Nothing better than beautiful snow during the holiday season and an adventurous train ride for the first time. I just want to be able to surprise my children with something that they will always remember, better than any gift wrapped in paper or in a box under a Christmas Tree. The gift of beauty, adventure, and possibilities. I want them to have the same holiday spirit that I have, what better way than introducing them to a little bit of magic, just like a scene from a Disney Holiday movie lol! As a child my family didn’t have much but Christmas was one of the few times I felt the world was a wonderful place filled with kind, giving souls, and I was thankful every year. This was because my eyes kept my heart full of joy… seeing the beauty of the lights and holiday decor in the streets. Every year I prayed and wished for snow, but of course it only happened ever so often in Tacoma. I want my children’s eyes to witness the beauty in what kept my heart filled with the Spirit of Christmas even into the present day. I want to create a bookmark in their lives, one that they will have to cherish at the end of the year no matter what obstacles they have overcome or will have to face in the future. A moment frozen in time to have always, a perfect holiday with their mommy… Priceless ;-)

I have lived here in Washington for 15 years and have always wanted to go to Leavenworth with my wife but never had the chance. Noting the fact that I have never been on a train, this would be the best and most amazing adventure for us! :)

  278. Amanda Wright October 21, 2013 at 2:02 pm #

I would love to have the chance to take my soon to be 2 year old daughter Maddie on the Snow Train to Leavenworth. I can think of no better way to celebrate her birthday on December 2nd. I rode the snow train many years ago and loved it. I can imagine it will be all the better with my baby.:)

  279. Karen B October 21, 2013 at 2:54 pm #

Leavenworth delivers a pain in my brain that is nearly impossible to cure, yet somehow is Washington State legally mandated holdiay fun. Couple this with a long trip with two small children that will undoubtably be given a ‘double dose of annoying pills’ and a husband that will likely be annoyed to be visiting the ‘magical snow globe’ yet again will guarantee a “super-fun” family time. The only thing that will make this have an even remote chance of having fun is the opportunity to drink alcohol on a train whilst getting there. And back. I’ll arrange a DD to pick us up at the station ;).

    • Audrey October 23, 2013 at 12:10 am #

Quite the Debbie Downer! It’s not just Washington Christmas fun. People from all over the world visit Leavenworth. I suggest you lay off the alcohol and cheer up a bit

  280. CHUCK October 21, 2013 at 3:53 pm #

My dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease about 11 years ago. Before his diagnosis he worked for 25+ years as a truck driver to provide for my mom, sister, and me. This job has physically torn his muscles apart and to add Parkinson’s Disease on top of this there is never a day that he is not in pain. I am 26 years old and am his primary care taker. If only the world could meet this AMAZING man. He isn’t able to travel really at all anymore, as he is wheel chair bound, and money is tighter than ever. He grew up loving and playing with Lionel Trains and I know this trip aboard the Christmas Train would be something he would never, ever forget. I am so grateful just for the chance to be heard and tell you all just a little bit about my father, Fred. Thank you!

  324. Alvin October 28, 2013 at 1:55 am #

I would love to take the holiday train to Leavenworth because it would be an special trip that my wonderful girlfriend and I could experience for our 5th anniversary this coming December. 325. tiffany October 28, 2013 at 7:17 am #

I would love and really appreciate to be given this opportunity to truly experience the holiday season. Christmas and the holidayd have always been my favorite time of year as a child. Something about the family and joy the season brings just pulls at my heart strings. As much as I love the season though its been a long time since I have truly experienced the pure joy of the holidays. I am a middle child of three children. When we were younger Christmas was amazing. We would make decorations and go out and get trees and do all the fun things you can imagine. But by the time I was in third grade that all changed. My father lost his job and my mother went back to school. It was an extremely difficult time for years, and still is. During this time making an attempt to still be joyous and happy during the holidays my younger brother and I made presents out of duct tape and tennis balls and whatever else we could find in our toy chest after our mother had told us we wouldnt be able to afford christmas that yr. Looking back I giggle at how silly we were but even as children we desperately tried to save Christmas and the happiness. So the holidays have been a downward spiral since my youth and even through the trial and tribulations faced yr after yr I fight to hold onto the spirit of Christmas even though I hardly see it anywhere except when volunteering at my local soup kitchen during the holidays.
I have began to rant. Long story short I would be extremely grateful to be given this opportunity. You have no idea how much this would mean to me.

I would love to win these tickets just to be able to do something nice for my husband. I married my husband seven years ago and he has been a rock for me during really difficult times. The years before he married me had been tough and I was a mess yet he fell in love with me. I had gone through a terrible divorce, loss my sister and brother, and had left a job that I had loved for twenty years. I had two daughters who had just graduated from high school and were having a hard times picking up the pieces with me. Steve had never been married and yet he became a wonderful supportive husband and father. We never were able to take a honeymoon or take a vacation since we got married because we have struggled financially for the last seven years. Over the last seven years we have experienced job loss for both of us, I almost died and was in the hospital for a month, Steve had a blood clot and was severely ill. We loss two parents and many aunt and uncles. He has been one of the parents to three dogs, four cats, two daughters, and Six international students. I was forced to go on disability because of my health and he has been my support and love through all of it. He loves Christmas and Leavenworth and it would be a great surprise for him if we could win a fabulous trip like this.

This is my definition of heaven on earth! Getting to ride the snow train would absolutely make my whole year! I have lived in seattle my whole life and always heard about it, but never had the chance to ride it. When my boyfriend heard me read the description he said “Christmas and breakfast are involved? That sounds like your paradise!” Everyone who knows me knows that those two things, Christmas and breakfast, are my favorite things in the whole world and this train has both AND MORE! I would be absolutely thrilled and incredibly grateful to get to ride the snow train this year. Please consider me!

  335. EUNJI November 28, 2013 at 11:06 pm #

  339. Nick December 4, 2013 at 12:58 pm #

After being away this time every year for the past 3 years due to the military. I will finally be home this christmas! I would love the opportunity to take my son on something so memorable for us both. He is fascinated by trains and and is thoroughly inthralled with the idea that you can actually ride on them (he’s 3). After a hard year of deployments and training and being away from my family this would be an amazing way to make a few memories that will last us a life time.

  340. Teah December 6, 2013 at 2:13 pm #

I am just not feeling the Christmas spirit this year. :-( My brother-in-law was recently diagnosed with cancer, I have another brother who is mentally ill, my father is sick with a skin infection on his foot… and there’s a whole lot more illness surrounding me this year that I just don’t want to go into because it’s depressing. I could really benefit from a trip like this. It would really lift my spirits. Thanks.

I am a proud momma of a wonderful 1.5 year old, full of wonder and amazement. I have always wanted to go to Leavenworth and being from Colorado the idea of a snow train, well it brings out the giddy 10 year old excitement of playing in the snow, building snowmen, making snow angels and then going in the house for some hot cocoa in front of the fireplace. I know that we will love this experience as a family and maybe a new tradition…

    Thank you

  346. Jennifer Beals October 14, 2015 at 1:20 pm #

I’ve tried for the last 4 years to plan this “quickly sold-out” experience, which I’ve been told is amazing and unforgettable. It’s like an old legend that is passed down from generation to generation about this trip . I’ve been told the train itself is magical the ride is breathtaking and the city of Leavenworth turns into a Christmas wonderland! If I won tickets to go it would be one of the greatest experiences in my life!
