Carrying the torch passed on by Bob Marley himself, original guitarist Al Anderson and original keyboardist and background singer Tyrone Downie have united along with a group of handpicked musicians to honor the history and integrity of Bob’s music with The Original Wailers.

Al Anderson (guitar) first joined Bob Marley & The Wailers in 1973, going on to play with Bob until his untimely death in 1981. Al was an integral part of the Bob Marley & The Wailers sound, forever imprinting his guitar solos and production skills on the catalog that has sold more than 75 million records and touched so many around the world.

Tyrone Downie first joined Bob in the mid 70’s as a keyboardist, background singer and producer. Tyrone’s footprint on the music is unmistakable, and his attention to detail as a producer was also a big part of the Bob Marley & The Wailers sound and success. After Bob’s death, Tyrone has stamped his passport in stints with Beenie Man, Black Uhuru, Buju Banton, Peter Tosh, Junior Reid, Tom Tom Club, Burning Spear and Steel Pulse to name a few.

Let these two historically important musicians bring the magic and intensity of the legendary Bob Marley catalog to your next event with their powerful 2013 Grammy nominated 10 piece band, The Original Wailers…

Two Story Zori is a local island band out of Seattle, Washington consisting of 4 members from Guam, 1 from Hawaii and 1 from Vietnam. I won tickets to another Reggae show at Nectar via this website (first time I’ve won tickets to any show. Thanks Pipeline!!). Sadly that plan backfired on me (think No Woman No Cry) but thats another story for another day. So here I am again…a different time, a different place in my life and a whole lotta love for the music still. What better way to “turn that sad face upside down” than to listen to the originals. Bob has always been my choice in music when I’m in need of an attitude adjustment. This looks to be an awesome show (on a Thursday night no less). Combine Nectar’s laid back atmosphere (and their drinks) with Two Story Zori’s local flavor and you are sure to experience a night of “no worries brah”. Count me in!

I just moved to Seattle and I’m trying to get to as much live music as possible and how could I miss seeing a show a Nectar lounge?! Plus, what could be better than a group of awesome guys paying tribute to an awesome guy through music…spread the love, spread the message!

Natural Mystic was the first song played at my wife and my wedding. I’d love to take her to this show. I am a big Bob fan and have many live shows, all the albums etc.

Everyone deserves an opportunity for something good to happen in their lives. Free tickets to this event would be that sliver of an opportunity for me. It would be the opportunity to recognize the talent behind TSZ and the hard work they put into something they believe and the love with which they do so for all to enjoy. I can’t wait to feel the rhythm of the beat throughout my body and to enjoy the pleasure of such a simple gift as reminising of home.

Thank-you SP for favorably considering me.

Always reminds me of a warm sunny summer day!! I love reggae music and would just be so thankful if I was picked to go! I can’t even imagine how amazing it would be to get to go! Fingers crossed!

My boyfriend is a huge Bob Marley fan, and this would be the perfect way to celebrate him starting his new job/promotion at the end of July (while also being friendly to my less-than-stellar intern income)! Not to mention I have heard some wonderful things about the Nectar Lounge and have been wanting to check it out!

    Thanks SP!
