Creating vivid instrumental imagery using complex rhythms and a unique precision that redefines the term “funk” for 21st Century audiences the 8 piece Polyrhythmics are proving to be one of Seattle’s finest exports.

With a hard-driving modern afro-psycho-beat sound composed of relentless rhythm, heart thumping bass lines, intricate guitar phrasings, avalanches of keyboard colors, melodic hooks and soaring horn solos the octet delivers a live experience to behold that immediately turns any joint into a funky dance party.

With the recent release of Octagon, the band begins another chapter to the story that began just 5 years ago as they continue to grow with a singular sonic muse of progressive and dynamic stature.

I would love to win tickets to this event because my fiance and I could really use a night out together. We just recently moved to Seattle from Ohio and the last few months have been very busy and stressful. We have not been on a date in ages so please pick us! :)

I love that large, fusion-y bands like them continue to thrive in my native home of the Seattle area. :) Takes me back to the early days of Critters Buggin’, Black Happy, on up to these guys and current funky and street-orchestral bands around. I am a party of one, and hardly get out to non-free ticketed things, so this is SO needed and would be so appreciated. Polyrhythmics are so phenomenally talented (though I’ve never seen them live yet), and the exquisite trumpet player had a radtastic Fester-ing costume this Halloween! :D

I would love to spoil and romance my boyfriend with a night on the town–groovin and movin! We will be sharing Thanksgiving with our separate families, so this would be just our special time! We have a really new relationship blooming, so I would love to make it just about us! And–what better way!

My boyfriend & I just moved from Austin to Portland. We just started to explore the PNW and have been spoiled by all the live music in Austin. It would be incredible to experience some while visiting Seattle for the weekend :) Polyrhythmics concert will be so much fun and I really hope I win tickets for this event!

Funk as my Fresh start to the New Year?
There is a catchy rythym in those words…
I envision the dancers on Soul Train doing all kinds of bogey and I’m diggin it!
